Critical Guidelines for Career Counseling and Youth Support Services in Global Workforce Development: Consensus among Policy, Research, and Practice Experts
May 23, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
RTI University Scholars Seminar Series Presentation by Dr. Sylvia Nassar
This seminar will share critical guidelines for building effective career and workforce development programs for youth, developed through a recent survey study with experts spanning policy, research, and practice domains. The Delphi study effectively developed consensus across the domains as well as global borders. After reviewing these critical guidelines, we will engage in interactive discussion with participants about implications of study results and creative implementation strategies across youth populations both locally and globally.
Sylvia Nassar, Ph.D., professor at NC State University and internationally known counselor and career development trainer and scholar, currently leads the Research Triangle Institute-International’s Career Builders project. She has published over 80 books and articles and delivered over 100 conference presentations and has received grants from the National Science Foundation and the National Institute for Aerospace for initiatives supporting STEM research and workforce development.
